About

We founded Cool Clan in March 2006 as an easy-going Natural Selection team. The competitive squad itself was shortlived, but we remained active as a community, centred around #coolclan on QuakeNet.
Later that year, we formed a new team and decided to give QuakeWorld a go. We managed to play (and win!) two officials in the European Quake League. The success proved too much, and within a month or so, our QuakeWorld team went the same way as our Natural Selection team did.

In summer 2008, we moved on again. A group of former Natural Selection players wanted to see what TF2 was all about. So “The Welcoming Committee” was born from the mothership of #coolclan.
After spending many months learning the game, we were honoured to join the Weapons of the Rebellion organisation as their second TF2 team (as wotr²). We quickly rose through the ranks, starting in the cellars of division 4 of ETF2L’s third season, making it to division 2 for the fourth season, and earning a promotion spot to division 1 for the fifth.

In May 2009, we felt it was time to part with the wotr organisation. Admirable explained the situation best:

Joining wotr was one of the best moves we made since we started playing TF2 about 8 months ago.
We have gained a certain level of notoriety and prestige from the wotr organisation but we feel it is time to move on.
Of course we are grateful for all the support and love we have received from Xman, nos et al, however, the focus has always been on TCM.
We are a team pushing hard to improve and to represent our beautiful game at a high level; so we are putting ourselves in the shop window so to speak.
Whilst many people will say we are crazy for leaving wotr, we feel it is time for a change and want to shake things up. In fairness there is really not much to lose or gain either way as we have been mostly self sufficient since the beginning.

Currently we are as active as ever, practicing as much as the summer months permit.
