Sad news for you coolclan enthusiastics(Oetel); The Posse will be very different from the 2009 team as only a few of the original members remain. This time we aim to have a more casual take on TF2 while maintaining a decent level(once we reach it, that is) and competing in the upcoming ETF2L Season.

Pretty much all them have red-eye and I could not be fucked in running all 150 through Photoshop.
So it’s definitely quantity over quality, but there are a few gems to be had if you persevere.

Also, thanks to our faithful webmaster, Oetel, for getting rid of most of the spam posts and working on a proper spam filter. Still have to catch those pesky virtual viagra salesmen.

Naturally, coolclan itself isn’t going anywhere and we might enter some competitions in other games with a more light-hearted attitude.  Our plan is to keep this website somewhat active, so if someone other than me regularly checks the site, you can keep doing that, and all you #coolclan idlers are precious to us.

Big thanks to all the present and past players of coolclan, the wotr crew, Oetel for the magnificent website and leshka for the slick artwork he provided us.  The memories of those four crazy days we spent in Amsterdam and The Community LAN with the mighty coolmix and our groupies will last in our minds for a lifetime.

Many of us will continue to play the beautiful game that is competitive TF2 but we will never forget… we were cool… we were clan… coolclan.

Summer 2008 – Fall 2009

"Fuck yeah, coolclan!!" screamed Philip in euphoria

As mentioned in a previous post, we have been on a lookout for a new demoman to replace deith as the main demo. After trialing a handful of demomen, one Swede stood out the most and after about a week’s worth of pcw’s with him we decided to go for him, so welcome to coolclan, emptynoflow! A quick interview with the man to know what he’s all about:

Hello, who are you and what do you do?

I am Philip Tellberg, 19 years old and live in a suburb of Stockholm. Atm I am starting a new education at the university that will either be about economics marketing or economics IT. Other than gaming I spend time with my friends and my GF as usual.

Do you think you will go far with your new team?

Hmm, haven’t really thought much about it and tbh I haven’t got a deep view of the tf2 scene so my generel view of all teams isn’t large. But I definitely enjoyed playing the little I have played with coolclan so far and honestly I enjoyed their gamestyle more than FB (aggressive) which suits me so in conclusion: yes I think and hope so.

Time for one of these lineup things again as our polish powerhouse, cube, was also taken by the cold hand of inactivity, so our main lineup for the upcoming leagues as of now:

Team YoYoTech dropped us from the ESL European Master Series-cup, which was sort of expected as we were just returning from the break and YYT happens to be probably the most active team in Europe at the moment and generally somewhat stronger than us. Good game neverthless. After beating us, Team YoYoTech(now known as Vale!) took down The Imperial moving up the cup tree to play against Team Coolermaster in the semifinals. They managed to bring down TCM in a rather controversial game and advanced to the finals of the tournament where they will face Europe’s number one clan, Team Dignitas.

The ETF2L Season 5 is over and our final placement was joint fifth or sixth with The Imperial, depending on how you see it. What degrades the accomplishment a bit is the fact that in the end of the season only seven teams remained as 4Kings and Die Doppelnullen folded, although they did play majority of their games. Had they not folded, we would have finished fifth anyway, which in our eyes is a good placement and we pretty much managed to reach our goal we had planned before the season.

In other news, Admirable , cube , treigzak and wltrs have the honour of representing their countries in the upcoming ETF2L and EnemyDown Nations cups. I wouldn’t be surprised to see deith playing for Team Poland which leads me to announcing the sad news of deith going inactive/semiactive for the summer if not for good. Altbst managed to blow his computer and things are bit uncertain on his part so a free soldier spot is included in the recruitment thread we created on the ETF2L forums. You will be seeing a gallery on this site sometime in the future, it will include unseen pictures from The Community Lan and my plan is to snap some TF2-related pictures from The Assembly LAN that is happening next week.

We managed to reach playoffs in The Escapist Tournament and won the quarterfinal game without a sweat but got disqualified due to one of our members using an unlockable weapon which was considered a rule breach in the cup. While it didn’t really have an effect on the result of the game, the opposing team saw an opportunity to get some razer mousepads and used it.

Unfortunately we had to hand out our first default win to Team Dignitas in the ESL European Major Series IV due to simply not being able to wield a team at the time it was supposed to be played. However, we’re not out of the cup yet. We will face Team YoYoTech in the loser bracket in a game that is scheduled to be played on the upcoming sunday.

The Community Lan was held last weekend and while coolclan did not take part, the coolmix did. Pictures and possibly more coverage incoming.
